Ornellaia Masseto 1987

Parker: The 1987 Masseto comes across as quite floral, delicate and understated, with lovely definition in its fruit. I don’t think the 1987 has too many more years of fine drinking left, but it is undeniably impressive in every way right now. 94/100

Galloni: Here in its first commercial release, the 1987 Masseto is terrific. I am pleased and surprised to see the 1987 hanging on to so much depth, as it was decidedly more delicate when I last came across it. Dark plum, chocolate, licorice and spice are perhaps a bit strong for a wine of this age, but, then again, these were very early days for the estate. More than anything else, I am surprised by how well the 1987 continues to show. 94/100
