Parker: The 2019 Riesling Idig VDP.Grosse Lage has very clear, open, elegant and limestone-influenced fruit with a fine herbal note and first notes of bottle maturity. Playful, spicy and stimulatingly salty as well as bitter on the tart and gastronomic finish, this is an Idig in the classic style: elegant, firm and devoid of any functionless ornamentation. Tasted at the Rebholz Kastanienbusch/Christmann Idig/Wittmann Morstein vertical tasting in Westhofen in late August 2024.
